Join us in a First Friday celebration honoring 10 years of exceptional art exhibitions and education programs—all of which would never have been possible without the support of our patrons!
Celebrate with live performances, great art and a special tribute to Robert and Lillian Turchin. Live music performances by Todd Wright and Andy Page.
A special "Donors Only" reception will be held from 6-7pm.
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Turchin Center for Visual Arts, Tim Turner has created a limited edition archival pigment print of his original work, Lemon Grass. Less than 50 prints of this incredible work will be available for purchase. Proceeds will go directly to the Turchin Center to continue presenting exceptional art exhibitions and education programs for the community.
"The inspiration for my abstract pieces come from many different areas, music, poetry and the images of daily exsistence. The 'Beach Music' series started from a family vacation, by looking at what was right there, tracks of the birds, motion of the shrimp boats, surfers bobbing up and down in the ocean, I found a starting point, not wanting to paint a seascape but evoke a sense of the beach.
"The collage pieces involved in most paintings are actually pieces from previous paintings that were either painted past the point of no return or overall were too weak to live on but had some strong elements within them. I cut them up, save them and usually that's how the next painting starts. I like the quality of the line that a cut piece of canvas gives you."
