Mass Shooting Defined as 4 or More Deaths Per Shooting Incident. This Sculpture is a Memorial to Those Lost to Senseless Violence for the years 2014 -2018. Each Figure Represents a Lost Soul Rising to the Heavens.

About the Artist

Bob Doster is an award-winning artist who has been creating and teaching for more than fifty years. Prestigious awards include SC Governor’s highest recognition in the arts and the Elizabeth O’Neill Verner Award. Doster has been named Keeper of the Culture by the York Heritage & Cultural Commission, Hero of the Child by SC First Steps, Small Business of the Year by Lancaster County Chamber of Commerce, CN2Hometown Hero and received a City of Lancaster Mayoral Proclamation.

Doster has been featured in publications and broadcasts including Southern Living Magazine, Carolina Arts, Snadlapper, SCETV, Arts Hub, National Welders Magazine and a myriad of newspapers and travel magazines. Works by Doster can be found in museums, galleries, public, corporate and private art collections worldwide. Doster has been working with students of all ages for more than forty years and is on the roster of the SC Arts Commission “Arts in Education Artists.” He has spent time as a visiting teaching artist having worked with over 150,000 students creating clay and steel sculptures in North Carolina and South Carolina.

Bob Doster was born in Lancaster, SC where he has been a sculptor for 40 years. He is the owner of Bob Doster’s Backstreet Studio ltd.
