We are pleased to announce that the Turchin Center for the Visual Arts is implementing a gradual public re-opening of our galleries. In order to ensure the health and safety of museum visitors and staff, capacity will be limited. Protocols and procedures will follow the recommended guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, and Appalachian State University.
Beginning on May 13, 2021, the Turchin Center galleries will be open to the public on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 12 – 4 pm using a timed appointment/ticketing entry system.
Registration is required and reservations can be made using this visitor registration form.
Admission is free.

We are providing continuity of our programming by providing access to our galleries and programs through our website, walk-through videos, ARTtalks, learning guides, and virtual workshops. The Turchin Center’s administrative offices are open and the staff is available to assist students, faculty, staff and community members with digital information and online resources related to our exhibitions. University Access to the Turchin
Appalachian State University students, faculty and staff can continue to request access to the Turchin Center for academic purposes. Requests will be addressed on a case by case basis and will require an appointment. Inquires can be directed to Christy Chenausky at firstname.lastname@example.org.
ARTtalks scheduled during spring semester are virtual and will be announced on the exhibitions pages of this website.
Workshops scheduled during spring semester are virtual and can be found on the workshops page of this website.
In-person events are on hold until further notice and summer plans are being formulated.
