Fizzy First Friday at the Turchin!

Join us on the first Friday of every month as the Turchin Center for the Visual Arts (TCVA) is open late as part of the Downtown Boone Art Crawl. Residents, visitors and the Appalachian State University community are invited to TCVA to experience the exhibitions featured in its six galleries.

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and we have special goodies for everyone to enjoy. Tickle your nose with a fizzy drink and savor some valentines cookies.

For over a decade, artist Jody Servon has documented objects people save when those they love die, and writer Lorene Delany-Ullman has written accompanying prose poems based on interviews and details the objects’ owners shared. The resulting body of work gathered in this book is a visual and poetic narrative of how grief manifests and how material possessions help harbor memories.
