Paint Night will be led by Brooke Drury with assistance from Miranda Lowery.

Brooke Drury is a junior at Appalachian State University working towards a BFA in Studio Art with a concentration in painting. She began teaching paint classes in high school and loves to share her passion with others. She feels that art should be accessible to everyone and is confident that everyone can create something they are proud of. She encourages workshop students to embrace the sometimes messy side of the creative process. Brooke began working at the Turchin Center her sophomore year as a gallery ambassador and is grateful to be a part of a community that believes in educating the public about art and sharing visual beauty with everyone. She is looking forward to learning more about her own creative process and is glad to be able to be on this journey at the Tuchin Center.

Miranda Lowery is currently a junior at Appalachian State University pursuing a BS in Anthropology. She is interested in the intersections of psychology and art, with a particular focus on expression and how art can transform one’s lived experience. Miranda believes that everyone can be empowered through art and hopes to cultivate a safe, creative space for individuals while at Turchin Center.
