Workshop: Open Studio for App Students

Join us on Tuesday evenings throughout the semester to unleash your creative spirit in a community of App State student peers in the studio space at the Turchin Center. These art-making workshops are led by Appalachian State University student instructors and are open to all skill levels. All supplies are provided.
Open Studio will be a time to create and play with art making materials in a casual and welcoming setting. Explore the world of texture, color and design. Play with paint, collage, pastels, pen and ink with facilitators who will inspire and offer demonstrations and prompts for creative art making.
Workshop facilitators
Miranda Lowery is currently a senior at Appalachian State University pursuing a BS in Anthropology. She is interested in the intersections of psychology and art, with a particular focus on expression and how art can transform one’s lived experience. Miranda believes that everyone can be empowered through art and hopes to cultivate a safe, creative space for individuals while at Turchin Center.
