Admission to the center is always free.

Tuesday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Wednesday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Thursday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Friday: 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Sunday: Closed

 

Location & Directions

The Turchin Center for the Visual Arts is located at 423 West King Street, Boone, NC 28608. The main entrance is located in the plaza on King Street. It can also be accessed from campus and the back parking lot via the grand staircase.

Parking & Drop-off

Two-hour metered parking is available along King Street and in downtown Boone public spaces on Depot and Queen Streets. Parking for longer visits is available one block west of the center at 567 West King Street, next to Town Hall or in the N. Depot Street lot just north of King Street. Parking is also available at the Appalachian State University, Rivers Street Parking Deck at 461 Rivers Street which is .6 miles/12 minute walk from the Turchin Center. Visitor parking passes may be purchased for other locations from the Parking and Traffic Office located in Suite A of the Rivers Street

Parking Deck

Parking in all university surface lots is free after 5 pm Monday through Friday and on weekends unless otherwise posted.

Oversized Vehicle Parking

For larger vehicles (school and tour buses) please contact Visitor Services at turchincenter@appstate.edu or (828) 262-3017 to locate the most appropriate parking available.

Bus

The AppalCART bus stop at ASU College St. Station is a three-minute walk away. The Gold, Green, Orange and Red routes stop here. Visit www.appalcart.com for more information.

Bike

Bicycle parking is available outside the lower level lecture hall entrance.

Visitor Drop-off

Patrons are always welcome to drop-off and pick-up guests from the parking lot directly behind the Turchin Center. The building can be entered through the ground level lecture hall entrance with access to the elevator to go up to the main lobby. The main entrance can also be accessed via the grand staircase to the main entrance plaza.
