The Turchin Center welcomes individuals and groups for guided tours of the current exhibitions and the Rosen Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition. Our interactive tours, led by knowledgeable art guides, include engaging information about the art, culture, and ideas behind the works on view. Visitors are encouraged to actively participate in the tours with questions and their reflections of the exhibitions.
While the galleries of the Turchin Center are closed to the public, Appalachian State University students, faculty and staff can request access to the Turchin Center for academic purposes. Requests will be addressed on a case by case basis and will require an appointment. Inquires can be directed to Christy Chenausky at firstname.lastname@example.org or fill out this TOUR REQUEST FORM.

The Rosen Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition is a national juried sculpture competition. Each year, 10 contemporary American sculptures are selected from an abundance of entries and are installed in locations on the university campus. A self-guided walking tour map, a learning guide and QR codes on the signage adjacent to each sculpture provides in-depth information about the sculptures and artists who made them. The walking tour map is available at the front desk or can be found here along with the learning guide and a link to a video tour.
