ARTTALKS

ARTtalks are talks led by visiting or exhibiting artists, scholars and practitioners. These talks provide deeper insight into creative practice, context for current exhibitions or contemporary issues shaping the world in which art is created, experienced and interpreted.
The 2021-22 ARTtalk series offered at the Turchin Center for the Visual Arts is dedicated to the memory of Dr. Rosemary Horowitz, a cherished member of the Appalachian State University arts community. Rosemary was a loyal patron of the visual and performing arts, who passionately believed in the importance of educational programs designed to engage artists with audiences across our campus and community. Based on her commitment to using the arts to advance the university’s teaching mission, these ARTtalks are dedicated to Rosemary’s memory.
